China Glaze Crackle Glaze Metals - Platinum Pieces

I have another short post for you guys today. I got married last month in Hawaii, so today my husband and I are having a wedding reception for all of our family to attend. I'm getting my hair done right now =] Here I used Metal Crackle in Platinum Pieces over Sinful Colors Dream On. I wanted to include a picture of Dream On by itself, but the formula was hard to work with for me and it looked a little weird =P Maybe I need to have a steadier hand.

China Glaze Crackle Glaze Metals - Cracked Medallion

I have another CG Metal Crackle to show you all today! I used Cracked Medallion over Color Club in Modern Pink. I also love this combo. I really enjoyed all the crackles from this collection. I'll be posting them throughout the week. I'll just cut straight to the photos =]

China Glaze Crackle Glaze Metals - Tarnished Gold

So as you ladies saw yesterday, I picked up all 6 of the new China Glaze Crackle Glaze Metals. Today I'm showing Tarnished Gold over China Glaze Rose Among Thorns (neon). I loved the formula and the color SO much better than the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Tarnished Gold that I picked up a few months ago. You can see my post of that here. That one had a faded gold color and barely cracked. O.P.I. has also released a gold shatter, which I'll probably get in the next couple of weeks. Hope you like this one as much as I do!

August Haul #2

I was going to make a haul post last week, but good thing I saved it until this week because I stopped by U.S. Nails Supply (my all time fave nail polish super store!) and grabbed some more stuff. Here's what I picked up these past few weeks.

China Glaze Metal Crackle Glaze L to R: Haute Metal, Oxidized Aqua, Latticed Lilac

China Glaze Metal Crackle Glaze L to R: Tarnished Gold, Cracked Medallion, Platinum Pieces

Zom-body to Love (it glows in the dark!)

L to R: Classic Camel, Rose Among Thorns (neon), Flip Flop Fantasy, Cleopatra

Pros & Bronze and Love is a Racket

Konad Demo plates 1 AND 2!! I got demo plate 1 used at the California State Fair and then demo plate  2 new from OCnailart.com

Now for my holo haul (all these items were purchased online):

2 grams of Spectraflair Flex to make holo polishes

L to R: O.P.I. DS Signature, O.P.I. DS Original, China Glaze  GR8

Aqua Base for holographic polishes and #49 (not holo, but had to keep it with the Nfu-Oh pics)

Aren't the back of these bottles soo adorable?!

L to R: #61, #63, #64, #65, #66

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Snappy Sorbet and Konad M82

I've seen this image used layered before and I just LOVED how it looked. I can't remember where I saw it though so sorry I can't give credit to whoever it was =\ The one I saw had a hot pink base and then a black stamp layered over a white stamp. I kind of liked that one better, but I also wanted to use different colors to not be completely mindless so here's mine! I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Snappy Sorbet for a base. I bought this polish as a stamping polish, but wanted to give it a try on its own. I used Konad M82 in Konad White first and then M82 in Konad Red. I love the layered stamp look, but I think the color combo was just a bit too subtle for me.

Vintage Water Marble

I didn't really know what to call this post, but the colors remind me of the 70's! I actually did this water marbling the other day just to practice so I only did it on one hand. Wasn't very crazy about my color choice, but I didn't want to use too many colors because last time I did that it looked super psychedelic and I hated it lol. I started off with a white base and then marbled using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, and Green With Envy. I LOVE these polishes to marble with because their formula is so watery and the polish drips very easily. I got mine at Target for like $2.04/each. My middle finger looks all messed up because I started to make my bullseye and realized I forgot to tape my finger, so I grabbed my lip balm and put it around my nail instead of tape (I heard some people use it instead of tape). I think I must have marbled on top of a glob of lip balm because when I put my topcoat part of my marble came right off =[ I will be sticking to tape from now on!

Rasta Water Marble

Hey everyone. I have a pretty cool post for you today. My husband's cousin Mia came over this week and she just recently celebrated her 21st birthday so I did her nails for her. She wanted a reggae water marble so here's what I came up with. I'm super happy with how it came out! I started out with a white base and marbled using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Cherry Red, Black Out, Mellow Yellow, and China Glaze Starboard.

OPI DS Signature

I have for you all today a post of my first 'real' holo. I posted a Color Club holo before, but it kinda sucked. This is my first super awesome linear holo. It's one of the discontinued polishes from OPI's Designer Series and it's called Signature. I've been seeing so many holo posts lately that I kind of went nuts last week and bought a couple OPI DS holos, a China Glaze OMG, 5 Nfu-Oh's, Nfu-Oh Aqua Base, and 2 grams of Spectraflair pigment. Haha yea, obviously I have no self  control and yes I spent a lot. Anyways, I wore this ALONE for a FULL WEEK. How crazy is that?! I took a shit ton of pics and narrowed it down as much as I could. Click to enlarge on these. They look so much better when they're their full size. Enjoy =]

I thought this looked cool because it also shows that it's a scattered holo as well as linear.

Holo not as crazy in this pic, but it's color accurate.

Hey everyone. Today I have some more swatches for you all. These 4 polishes are from the O.P.I. Miss Universe collection. Hope you like!

It's My Year. 2 Coats. No topcoat.

Swimsuit... Nailed It! 2 coats. No topcoat. My fave from the collection. It almost looks like a blue foil! This is a must-have!

Congeniality Is My Middle Name. 2 coats. No topcoat.

Crown Me Already! 3 coats. No topcoat. I'm not crazy about this on its own, but I saw it layered over a silver foil and it looked amazing!

China Glaze Traffic Jam and BM 204

Hey everyone. I have a short post for you all today. I swatched some of the CG Metro Collection last week before work so I had to do something on my nails before I left of course. I don't know why, but for some reason I hate to wear bare nail polish. I feel like my nails are naked even though they're far from it. The only time I will do it is if I unexpectedly leave the house or if the base is GORGEOUS (like what I'm wearing right now. I'll post that soon ;]  ) Here's CG Traffic Jam stamped with BM 204 in CG Passion. I really like the color combo on this one!

China Glaze Metro Collection Swatches

Hey everyone. Sorry I super lagged on posting these swatches. I did them all last week, but I didn't like how the photos came out of CG In the City. I couldn't quite capture it right on my SLR or my point & shoot, but it's what's been postponing me so I guess I'll just go ahead and put them up. The China Glaze Fall 2011 Metro Collection contains 12 colors, 6 for Uptown and 6 for Downtown.

UPTOWN:

Urban-Night. Creme. 2 coats. Eggplant.

Urban-Night

Traffic Jam. Creme. 2 coats. Medium berry pink. One of my faves from the collection.

Traffic Jam

City Siren. Creme. 2 coats. Dark red.

City Siren

Brownstone. Creme. 2 coats. This color pretty much looks like red clay. I'm not a fan of this one.  Maybe I'll change my mind in a few months when the weather sucks and it's dark outside. Haha.

Brownstone

Street Chic. Creme. 2 coats. Dark beige. Again, not a fan of this one either, but it's probably because I'm so partial to bright colors.

Street Chic

CG In the City. Light purple and silver glitter in a clear base. 4 coats with topcoat. This was taken with my SLR, it looks silver in here, but in person it's more purple. One of my faves. It really is beautiful once you built it up and add topcoat.

CG In the City

CG In the City. Taken with my point & shoot. You can see how it looks more purple.

DOWNTOWN:

Skyscraper. Silver and blue glitter in a medium blue jelly base. 3 coats with topcoat. Love this one.

Skyscraper.

Concrete Catwalk. Creme. 2 coats. Dark grey/blue. This color is pretty much dark grey, but it does have a blue tint to it. The photo makes it look bluer than it is in person. For someone who doesn't like dark colors much, I actually really like this one.

Concrete Catwalk.

Westside Warrior. Creme. 2 coats. Dark olive/camo green. Again, one of my faves.

Westside Warrior.

Trendsetter. Shimmer. 2 coats. Mustard yellow with shimmer. I thought this was going to be ugly, but I actually like it for some reason. I'm glad I have something to wear this fall that still is somewhat 'bright'.

Trendsetter.

Loft-y Ambitious. Burgundy shimmer. 2 coats. Such a beauty!

Loft-y Ambitious.

Midtown Magic. Burgundy with gold shimmer. 2 coats. So this base really is burgundy, but for some reason when worn, it totally looks brown. The gold glitter looks beautiful in this one. I liked this one a whole lot more than I thought I would.

Midtown magic.

Overall, I LOVE this collection. I've said it so many times in my previous posts that I don't like dark colors, but this fall collection has really broadened my horizons and made me fall in love with some dark colors. Formula was like a dream. Most only took 2 coats, except for the 2 glitters. They all had a quick drying time. My favorites: CG In the City and Skyscraper. My least favorites: Street Chic and Brownstone. Still love the rest =]
