Hi lovelies! I know Mardi Gras was last week, but with school I didn't have time to do my nails until this weekend. I decided to do a water marble since I haven't done one in awhile. It's not that I haven't tried, I think the times I tried it was way too cold and my polish was drying fast or something. Here I used a base color of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Golden-I and marbled using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Deep Purple, and China Glaze Holly Day.

The weekend is FINALLY here! This was one of the most difficult weeks of school I can remember. I can't wait to do my nails today! Lol. Anyways, here is a mani I did 2 weeks ago for my mother in law. She picked what she wanted me to use. It's a simple design, but she loved them so that's all that matters! I used China Glaze Happy Go Lucky for the base and stamped using Konad M50 in Konad Sky Pearl. And that blue background is the bottom of one of my beloved Konad demo plates <3

Essie Spring 2012 Navigate Her Collection

Hi everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your extra long weekend. I'm not because I'm working on lots of stuff for nursing school next week, but after this week I will be able to relax a bit. Today I have Essie's Spring 2012 Collection "Navigate Her." I actually don't have that much Essie in my collection because one time I used one and I hated the formula, but I have to say, after getting this collection I think I'm going to be getting a lot more! I probably used that other Essie when I still sucked at painting my nails lol.

Tour De Finance. Fuchsia shimmer with a purple flash.

Ole Caliente. Red based coral creme.

Orange, It's Obvious. Dark orange creme.

A Crewed Interest. Peach creme.

Navigate Her. The namesake of the collection. Pistachio creme.

To Buy Or Not To Buy. Lilac "shimmer". It basically looks like a lilac creme since the shimmer is very hard to see.

Here's the purple and blue shimmer in To Buy Or Not To Buy in the bottle. This shimmer is pretty much non-existent on the nail.

Like I said, I don't have very many Essie in my collection, but I am glad I have added these to my collection. It would've been nice if the shimmer showed up in To Buy Or Not To Buy. I could live without that one. Ole Caliente and Orange, It's Obvious are a little too close in color for me for a 6 polish collection, but of course I will be wearing both of them! My favorites are Navigate Her, A Crewed Interest, and Tour de Finance. Formula and dry time was great on these. I used 2 coats on all except A Crewed Interest and Tour De Finance, I used 3. Pictures are shown without topcoat.

Valentine's Day Hearts

Ok so this one is a day late. I didn't know how many Vday nails I was doing and I guess I should've started posting them a day earlier. Oh well. For this I used O.P.I. Strawberry Margarita as a base and then added other pinks using a dotting tool. I added China Glaze Dance Baby, China Glaze Sugar High, China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic, and Essie Tour De Finance. I stamped using Red Angel plate RA-114 in Konad White.

Valentine's Day Nails

So I didn't actually wear these for Valentine's Day because I had clinicals, but I wore these last weekend. I was planning on not seeing my husband for Valentine's because I'm so busy with school and I stay somewhere else during the week, but I was only fooling myself. I decided to pass on my schoolwork, drive an hour to see him, and go watch The Vow =] Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day as well. Anyways, onto my nails. I used O.P.I. Animal-istic and stamped using Konad M83 in Konad White. I don't know if my stamping polish is getting too thick, but I did have some trouble with the stamping on this one. Has anyone used polish thinner on stamping polish before? If so, did it help?

Hi everyone! Here's another Valentine's Day mani. I really wanted to do so many, but there's so little time. I did this one last month to have something for this occasion. I got 2 more coming up so keep an eye out. I used O.P.I. Strawberry Margarita and I actually can't remember the polish I did the gradient with. I usually don't post things after a whole month. Sorry! I stamped using Konad M78 in Konad White. There is a half heart on the image and after stamping, I'm not sure you can tell...but there was a half of a heart so it's still Valentine's themed I promise lol!

Valentine's Conversation Hearts

Hi everyone! I did these a a few weeks back because I knew when school came around I wouldn't have time to do that many different manis for Valentine's Day. I got this idea from Leslie at Polish Art Addiction. I'm pretty sure everyone has eaten this candy at least once for Valentine's Day. I can't remember what I used as a base color (oops!), but I stamped using Nail Art Diva plate From the Heart 1 in China Glaze Lemon Fizz, China Glaze Re-fresh Mint, China Glaze Something Sweet, China Glaze Peachy Keen, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Lively Lilac. I did use a dotting tool to go over the colors and make them more opaque. The red wording is stamped with the same plate using Nail Art Diva polish in Heartfelt Red. I got the Nail Art Diva plate and polish from Rebecca's 600 follower giveaway last year, but waited until the right occasion to use it =] I mattified them after with Essie Matte About You because the candies are actually matte and chalk like.

Nicki Minaj Inspired Nails #4

Hey everyone! Short post tonight. I wanted to get this up earlier this week, but OMG this second semester of nursing school is literally kicking my boootay and I have had no time and I should really be studying now. Anyways, here's my 4th and final Nicki Minaj inspired mani. I actually wanted to do more because I was so inspired, but the contest ended and I only had time to do 4. For this mani I used a base coat of China Glaze White Out and then used a dotting tool to add Color Club: Feelin' Groovy, Koo-Koo Cachoo, Chelsea Girl, Pucci-Licious, Almost Famous, and Poptastic. I stamped in Konad M57 in Konad Black.

Out of the four, one of my final entries was submitted for voting. The moderator chose this one, but personally I liked my #1 with the fish scale look. She did this last year and of course while I was doing Nicki Minaj outfit inspired nails I couldn't stop thinking about doing the one she did because it is so awesome. I used China Glaze White Out for the base and stamped using BM 215 with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Presto Pink. For my ring finger I used China Glaze Sunshine Pop.

Hi my lovelies! Like I mentioned in my last post, I did a few Nicki Minaj outfit inspired manis for this little contest on Instagram. Here's the second one I did. First I did 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Black Out. Then with the binder hole reinforcements applied, I did 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On. Lastly I stamped using BM 21 in Konad Black. I've always wanted to use this stamp and I've always seen it just stamped over yellow, so I'm glad my first time using it I was able to be creative! I don't know if anyone can tell, but O.P.I. Fly stained the crap out of my nails!! Has anyone else had the same problem?

Hi everyone! So I mentioned before I use this iPhone app called Instagram and I like to enter these little nail contests. I like how when I'm sometimes lacking inspiration these contests will give me a direction to go in. Anyways, the current one is to do nails inspired by outfits worn by Nicki Minaj or Lady Gaga. I did 4 so you'll be seeing them this week. I wanted to do more actually because I got a lot of inspiration, but I started nursing school again today so no more daily manis ='[

For this mani I painted all my nails with O.P.I. Fly. Then I used a dotting tool to add medium sized random blobs of O.P.I. Did It On 'Em, O.P.I. DS Glow, China Glaze Gaga for Green, Color Club Chelsea Girl, and L.A. Girl Disco Brites Vinyl Record. Lastly I stamped using Bundle Monster 224 in Konad Black. Pretty awesome, right?!

I wanted to do a mani with nice contrasting colors so I used China Glaze First Mate as a base and stamped using Bundle Monster 208 with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Silver Sweep. I love how this plate has images that are similar to each other, but embossed differently because it makes it so easy to create accent nails!

Hi everyone! I go back to school in a week ='[ I won't be able to post as often as I have been able to this past month and a half, but I will still post probably once a week. Anyways, I picked up China Glaze's Electropop collection the same day that I purchased the Magnetix Collection and I decided to use it to make cupcake nails! I was going to do cupcake nails earlier, but I was waiting on these colors, they're so bright and colorful! From China Glaze's Electropop Collection I used Sweet Hook, Dance Baby, Fuchsia Fanatic, Aquadelic, Gaga For Green, Sunshine Pop, Make Some Noise, and Gothic Lolita. The white is Wet N Wild French White Creme and the red is China Glaze Hey Sailor. Happy cupcaking!

Red and Gold Forty Niner Nails!

Hi everyone! Today I have a manicure for my favorite football team, the S.F. Forty Niners! They're playing tomorrow and I thought these would be very fitting for the occasion =] I used a base of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Cherry Red. Then I used some scotch tape to make a V shape and used O.P.I. Gold Shatter for the tip design. Then I used some gold hex glitter. I stamped using Konad M42, M17, and M18 in Konad White. I love how these turned out! Go Niners!

Here they are with no stamp for those of you who don't care for football or who have a different team preference. These can double as Chinese New Years nails! Chuc mung nam moi!

China Glaze Magnetix Collection Swatches

Hi everyone! Very exciting post today--China Glaze's Magnetix Collection! It consists of 6 magnetic polishes and a magnet which is sold separately. It was my first time using magnetic polish so please excuse the first few pictures as I was still trying to get the hang of it. Anyways, onto the pictures! (All swatches are shown with topcoat)

The two that gave me some difficulty were Attraction (the charcoal color) and Drawn to You (the light purple). They both have a very thick formula that for some reason did not work as well with the magnet as the other colors.
The directions say to apply one coat of the polish and use the magnet right away. I tried this and it was not working out so great for me. I felt in a rush to do application and the magnet effects were just okay for me. What I did that worked well for me was apply one coat of polish, let it dry, and then use a second coat of polish with the magnet.
The chevron and star designs were a bit tricky to use. Even if you get a crisp star design, the design would kind of fade and look blurry after a few seconds.
The names are all so similar I can't remember them for the life of me, but that may just be me =P

Besides those things, I have to say I'm now a fan magnetic polish. It's actually a lot faster for me to use magnets to create a fun nail design than to use other methods I usually use like stamping. It literally only takes 5-10 seconds for the magnet to work! These may be some new "go to" nail polishes for those who don't have enough time to do nail art. In case anyone was wondering, I purchased these polishes for $5 each and the magnet was also sold for $5. The nail store I go to sells polish for almost half the retail value so I would expect them to retail around $10, but don't quote me on that!

Zoya Shay and Konad M77

I have been pretty against wearing nudes because I love how bright colors look on nails, but at the hospital I had clinicals at last semester, I was actually allowed to wear nude polish so I purchased this one. Happy Friday the 13th everyone! I did these nails today and honestly, so many things went wrong! I'm not very superstitious, but I kinda feel like it was bad luck =[ I smudged my nails countless times and I totally spilled a bottle of polish all over the floor--first time that's ever happened! I almost gave up on these, but decided to power through it and finish. I used O.P.I. Mod About You for the base color. I stamped using RA 119 in Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Presto Pink and Konad Princess Apple Green. I added some yellow to the flowers with China Glaze Lemon Fizz. Lastly, I added orange dots using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Sun Kissed. Hope it turned out okay despite the mishaps!

Matte Black Leopard Print

Hi lovelies! Today I have a pretty cool leopard design to show you. I don't know if anyone else uses Instagram (if anyone wants to follow me on there my username is heartnat24), but sometimes there are little nail contests and if I have time I like to enter them. I entered these nails for a copycat contest so hopefully I make it to the finalists. Anyways I used O.P.I. Black Onyx as a base and then used Essie's Matte About You topcoat. Lastly I used a small dotting tool dipped in topcoat to draw the leopard print. Pretty cool huh?

Hi everyone! Today I have China Glaze Eye Candy swatches to show you. I know I'm a tad late, but it's my blog and I still feel like doing it =] These were released as Holiday 2011 polishes and there are 6 in the collection. They're inspired by Marilyn Monroe and described as 3-D glitters because there are different sizes and shapes of glitter in each polish to give a 3-D effect.

I used three coats for each. Some were actually fine in two, but I did a third for good measure. All photos are shown with one coat of topcoat. These are all beautiful. Personally I would wear all of them alone except Lorelei's Tiara and Marry A Millionaire. They're pretty, but not my favorite colors. Blonde Bombshell and Marry A Millionaire have bar glitter, which I thought was pretty cool. Some Like It Haute has holo glitter which I think looks gorgeous against it's dark base. Formula was good. I read that Material Girl is pretty thick and added polish thinner before use, so if it does have an issue, I wouldn't know. Hope you enjoyed these lovely glitters! Until next time.

Victoria's Secret PINK Inspired Nails

Hello everyone! Hope you all are having a good weekend. I received a lot of Victoria's Secret items this week in the mail and one of the things I ordered inspired me! Haha like I said before, it's rare that I do a mani that is inspired by something (sounds lame huh? lol), but anyways here it is! I used a base color of China Glaze Flyin' High. Thumb and ring finger are stamped using RA 110 in Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Presto Pink. Index is stamped using Konad M72. Middle is stamped using Konad M17 and M18. Pinky is stamped using RA 114. I used Konad White for all the other stamping. This would've been perfect for "nails inspired by a color" on the 31 day nail challenge. Guess I will have to come up with something else for that day. I will save the 31 day nail challenge for this summer so I won't rush, but I'm dying to do it!

OPI Black Onyx, China Glaze White Out, and RA 114

Hi everyone! Today I have another design to show you. I did this really quick. I just wanted to test out another Red Angel nail art plate. I'll be testing them a lot these next couple of weeks so stay tuned for more. On my pinky, middle, and thumb I used OPI Black Onyx and stamped using RA 114 in Konad White. Then on my ring and index finger I used China Glaze White Out and stamped using RA 114 in Konad Black. I wanted to see what color combination would look best. After trying it out, I like the white base with black stamp better. It might be hard to tell, but something I noticed so far using the Red Angel plates is that the image has tiny little parts that showed up bald when I stamped, which is something that never happens to me using Konad. It's no biggie, but I'm really anal sometimes and it bothers me just a bit haha.

QUESTION: I need some help from everyone. On my Facebook I like to use only one photo of each manicure, but I'm having a hard time picking a 'pose' lol. Do you prefer A, B, or C? Please help! =]

Nicole by OPI Pink Seriously and RA 102

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't made a post since last year! Haha that seems so long ago. Anyways, I have FINALLY received my Red Angel nail plates I purchased off of Amazon. I ordered them on December 8th and received them on December 27, way past the expected delivery date AND I live in the same state they shipped out from. Pretty ridiculous right?! Anyways, if you're interested in purchasing them they come in a set of 21 nail plates and I believe including shipping, it came out to about $17.

For this mani I used a base of Nicole by OPI Pink Seriously. It is my very first polish from that brand and it has this weird 'Perfect Stroke' brush. It will take me a bit of getting used to, but I think it worked pretty well. I stamped using Red Angel plate 102 in Konad Black.

Review:
As far as the Red Angel nail plates go, I have only used this design so far, but it came out better than I expected it to. I have pretty long nails and as you can see, the design covered my whole nail! I only had to stamp a little extra on my thumb, but I have to do that with Konad as well. The shipping time is the only thing that killed the purchase for me. I have read that other people received it in a few days, so maybe it was because I made a purchase around the holidays. Other than that, I would recommend these plates, it's a great deal. I find it hard to see all the designs of nail plate sets online, so I took pics of the nail plates so anyone who is interested can get a closer look! (Click to enlarge)

New Years Nails

Last post of 2011! I wanted to do a mani perfect for New Years and all I could think of was these Technicolor nails by Liz at Liquidjelly. She put up a tutorial and I tried to follow it as best as I could, I think it came out pretty cool, but I should have used smaller pieces of tape on my first couple of nails. I used O.P.I. DS Signature as my base color, added all the little strips of tape, and then did the gradient using China Glaze First Mate, Zoya Charla, Zoya Ivanka, and O.P.I. Simply Smashing. I did these last night so I don't have any pics of it in the sun, but here they are! What does your New Years mani look like?

Zoya Gems and Jewels Collection Swatches

I know the holidays are coming to an end, so I'm trying to get all my holiday polishes swatched soon! I would've done them earlier, but school just ended for me a week ago so I'm barely getting around to it. Here is Zoya's Holiday 2011 Gems and Jewels Collection. There are 3 metallic polishes and 3 coordinating glitter polishes.

I really liked this Holiday collection from Zoya. The metallic ones were easy to apply, whereas the glitter polishes became a bit thick during use. I'm new to bar glitter, so my only tip would be to be careful when applying to not let any hang over the edge of your nail otherwise they will get caught on your clothes when it dries. I used one coat of topcoat here, but two coats would be ideal. I almost got this collection for the giveaway, but this is seasonal and the Essie Luxeffects can be used all the time so I went with Essie. Thanks for reading! Until next time!

Christmas Colored Double Lightning Bolt

Merry Christmas everyone! I have a pretty cool mani to show you today. I have been scared to try out scotch tape manicures because I've been paranoid of ripping off my base colors, but I got brave and wanted to challenge myself by doing something a little more difficult. I used a tutorial from Jane at Nailside. It's my first one and I'm pretty proud of how it came out =] I used China Glaze Poinsettia, China Glaze Passion, and China Glaze Holly Day. China Glaze Blue Year's Eve and Konad M59

Today I have a winter snowflake mani to show you. I've seen a lot of snowflake designs that look very similar, so I tried to make mine look a little different. I used a base of China Glaze Blue Year's Eve. Then I used some scotch tape to make the V-shape and painted the tips with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Silver Sweep. To make it look shimmery, I added Essie Luxeffects in Pure Pearlfection. Then I stamped with Konad M59 in Konad White. Lastly, I added some blue rhinestones. I was worried I was adding too much, but I ended up really liking the end result =]

Christmas Water Marble

I wanted to do two Christmas water marble manis, but I only had time for this one. It didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to. I think the gold I used kind of mixed with the other colors a bit, but I still think it looks pretty decent. Does anyone have any suggestions of a gold polish that works well with water marbling? My favorite nail is my index finger, I wish all of my nails turned out that way. I used a base color of China Glaze Passion and to marble I used China Glaze Passion, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Cherry Red, and Zoya Holly. Anyways, short post today, my nails are drying as I do this post. I have two more really festive Christmas nails to show in the next couple days!

China Glaze Poinsettia, China Glaze Ring In the Red, and Konad M65

I wanted to do a candy cane theme for my first Christmas mani. My first idea didn't work out, but I still succeeded! My first idea was to have a red glitter base and water marble with white and clear. The reason I wanted to marble with white and clear was so the red and white wouldn't mix together and look pink, but unfortunately the clear polishes I tried using didn't work for me. I think I should've just tried marbling using white and red. Oh well. I still wanted a candy cane look so I used China Glaze Poinsettia and China Glaze Ring In the Red for a base and then stamped using Konad M65 in Konad White. Still looks candy cane like right...right? Lol.

OPI Nicki Minaj Collection Swatches

Hey everyone! I'm officially on my winter break and I'm so excited to get back to blogging. I took my final yesterday and it just so happens yesterday was also the day nail polish heaven got this collection! Lucky me since this collection is actually due out in early January. I'm going to have to go back to nail polish heaven soon because they will be receiving China Glaze magnetic polishes any day now (also due out in early January)! Hope these swatches will be of help to those who are interested in getting this collection.

L to R: Did It On 'Em, Fly, Pink Friday, Metallic 4 Life, Save Me, Super Bass Shatter

Did It On 'Em. Lime green creme. 3 coats no topcoat. Formula got a little thick on my 2nd and 3rd coats, but not a problem.

This reminds me of Reptar from the Rugrats for some reason =P

Fly. Turquoise creme. 2 coats no topcoat. This one stained a bit, but it was minimal.

Pink Friday. Bubblegum Pink. 2 coats no topcoat.

Metallic 4 Life. Black jelly base with silver hex, round, and micro glitter. 3 coats no topcoat. So much depth, love this one!

Not sure about this combo because both polishes are dark and it's hard to distinguish between the two, but I still like it.

Save Me. Clear base with holo bar glitter and silver micro glitter. 3 coats no topcoat. Don't think I'll be wearing this one alone, but it's gorgeous and I love the added effect from the holo bar glitter.

No flash. Love this combo because all the glitter underneath really shines through!

I have to say I truly love this collection. I'm big on bright colors, cremes, holos, glitters, and shatter and this collection has it all. I was really pleased with the Super Bass Shatter because I own a purple crackle polish from Sally Hansen and it was super sheer, but this one from O.P.I. is opaque. I added topcoat to all the swatches with shatter and it really brought out the shimmer inside the shatter. My favorite to wear alone has to be Metallic 4 Life because it is so unique and my favorite combination was Save Me with the Super Bass Shatter. Well that's it for O.P.I's Nicki Minaj Collection. Gold Leopard Gradient

This is another one of my few manis that is actually inspired by a clothing article I own. My shirt had a lot of different shades of brown with a leopard print so I decided to use several shades of gold for my nails. I used China Glaze Passion, O.P.I. Bling Dynasty, and O.P.I. DS Glow for the gradient. I stamped using BM 221 in Konad Black. Lastly, I used a dotting tool to add China Glaze Cleopatra inside the leopard spots. I wonder if I used enough gold =]

O.P.I. Your Royal Shine-ness and O.P.I. Black Onyx Half Moonicure

This mani is from about a month ago, but I wasn't loving how it turned out and the pics are pretty dark because of the ugly weather, but I've finally decided to post it lol. I know it's not my best, but at least I tried something new! I used binder paper hole reinforcements. The only ones at the store were the plastic ones and I do NOT recommend using them because they really don't want to conform to your nail shape. Anyways here it is! Sorry for the tip wear, I decided to take the pics 5 days after wearing it =P Oh yea, I used a matte topcoat on these right before I took it off and it looked much nicer, but I unfortunately didn't take pics of it.

O.P.I. Rainbow Connection

Hi my lovelies! Today I reached 300 followers! It has been a wonderful 7 months blogging. I wish I was able to update my blog a little more often, but it's been really difficult with school. When I'm on my winter break next month I will definitely be updating it a lot more! I thank each and every one of you who take the time to stop by my blog and check out my nail art. It's nice to be able to share my obsession with all of you =] I will be having a giveaway (a new bottle of this polish will be included!) within the next few weeks so keep an eye out. Anyways, here's the first polish I used from O.P.I.'s The Muppets Collection called Rainbow Connection. Application was a little difficult because the glitter is so chunky and the glitter would clump on other glitter, but the end result is worth the little extra effort! I used 2 layers of topcoat to smooth it out. Believe it or not, removal was really easy because my polish came off in whole chunks and I just kind of picked it off =P

I really wanted to do a Thanksgiving water marble last week, but the only brown brown that I own is a sorbet and it was a disaster =| It was also my birthday on Thanksgiving and I kept debating whether to do Thanksgiving or birthday nails so I just did something with brown LOL. Here I used O.P.I. Suzi Loves Cowboys and stamped using BM 203 in China Glaze Passion. After a few days I added one of Essie's new Luxeffects in As Gold as it Gets and it looked really cool, except I didn't make time to take pics. I really want to do a giveaway, but nursing school is practically drowning me right now so I think I have to wait until next month.

I'm lucky the nail polish store I go to sells these for half of what you would pay anywhere else. The OPI were $4.25 each, China Glaze were $2.75 each, Zoya was $4, and Color Club was I think $2.50. I think I'm going to get more Zoya's from the Gems and Jewels Collection, but at the time I told myself no because I thought it would be overdoing it lol. As you can see, there are TWO of Rainbow Connection. Since it seems to be so popular (and GORGEOUS), I decided to grab an extra and since my birthday is coming up, I will have a giveaway for Rainbow Connection and announce it on my birthday! I can't wait until my winter break from nursing school next month so I can finally play with everything.

Halloween Mani #3 Water Marble with Spiders

Happy Halloween everyone!! Here's my last Halloween mani. I had so many other ideas, but unfortunately just didn't have enough time to do them. I guess I'll have to wait until next year for those. Anyways, I wanted to do a marble with black in it, but I decided not to because I wanted to stamp over it. I first used a base coat of Wet n Wild French White Creme and then marbled using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, and China Glaze Life Preserver. I stamped using BM 13 in Konad Black. I tried using the spider image from the same plate and it wouldn't pick up for the life of me! So here you go, you can all laugh at my freehand spiders =P

Halloween Mani #2 Candy Corn Water Marble

Okay so I saw a few candy corn manis this month and thought they were really cute so I wanted to give them a try for myself. First, I tried doing a water marble with just the color scheme, but wasn't loving it very much, so I just decided to just do a water marble of it without the actual marbling. I used a base coat of Wet n Wild French White Creme and then marbled using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, and Color Club Almost Famous. I topped it off with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

I did this mani the first week of school, when I had to CHOP all my nails =[ I wanted to do a layered stamp mani. I like how it came out, but It wasn't my first idea. My original idea was to have a black plaid pattern in the background with a red rose, but when I tried it, the red rose didn't show up enough. Wow. It's almost been a whole week since I last posted. I mentioned last week that I started school in an R.N. (Registered Nursing) Program and it is no joke! I have stuff to post, I just don't have the time or energy. I'm so exhausted at the end of the day. Part of the week requires me to be at school or hospital at 6:30 AM so you can probably see why I won't be posting as often as I used to. Anyways, here's something I did a couple weeks ago where my nails are still long. I had to chop them off last week for school so now they're really short. Summery Beach Sunset

Today was my first day of the Nursing Program so my summer vacation is officially over =[ I originally wanted to post this yesterday, but I'm pretty sick right now and I had to sleep early for school last night so I saved it for today. I didn't do any crazy summer or beach manis this summer so I figured I can at least end with one. I used Color Club Pucci-licious, Color Club Modern Pink, Color Club Wham! Pow!, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, and L.A. Girl Metal Alkaline Blue. I used Konad M29 in Konad black. I know I probably could've blended a bit better, but I was kind of short on time, as I will be from now on since school has started. I know a lot of other people have started school recently or will be, so I hope everyone's summer has or will end on a great note!

O.P.I. Black Onyx and O.P.I. Gold Shatter

I've been buying a ton of crackle/shatter polishes lately! I can't help it. Just like regular nail polish, I feel the urge to own all colors and try same colors of different brands haha. Anyways, I used O.P.I. Black Onyx as a base and used O.P.I. Gold Shatter on top. I also added some gold hex glitter that I just got last week at U.S Nails (yes, again, but only a mini haul this time >.<) . I bought a little container of it because I wanted to try something new and also because the holidays are just around the corner and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a lot of use from it. I really loved the formula of this gold shatter. I applied it thick and it came out great. I keep going back and forth sometimes whether I like O.P.I. shatter or China Glaze crackle better, but more often than not I like O.P.I. better. I think it has to do with the pro-wide brush that makes the application easier because I use less brush strokes. What about you ladies, do you have a favorite shatter or crackle brand?

Here's another one of the CG Crackle Glazed Metals. For a base color I used China Glaze Urban Night and the Metal Crackle on top is Latticed Lilac. I like the color combo, but the lilac color is so light, it almost looks silver. I would actually prefer if it looked a little more purple because I already own O.P.I. Silver Shatter and CG Metal Crackle in Platinum Pieces (silver) so I was hoping it would look completely different from other ones I own already. Still great color and formula though!

Sorry I haven't blogged for almost a week! As I mentioned in my last post, I had my wedding reception last week on Saturday. I was kind of a zombie the next day and then this week I've been doing last minute things before I start an R.N. (registered nurse) program next week. I had to get my last immunization for school and I officially changed my last name (which was kind of a pain in the butt) haha! On a bad note, when school starts I will have to CHOP my nails so they don't go past my finger and I won't be allowed to wear nail polish to clinical (hospital) half the week so I won't be able to blog as much. I will definitely make some time though!

Anyways, here's the mani I wore for the wedding reception last week. For the gradient I used Color Club Modern Pink, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, and China Glaze High Hopes. I also used Nfu-Oh #49 on top of the 3rd color. I stamped using Fauxnad M72 in Konad White.

So as you ladies saw yesterday, I picked up all 6 of the new China Glaze Crackle Glaze Metals. Today I'm showing Tarnished Gold over China Glaze Rose Among Thorns (neon). I loved the formula and the color SO much better than the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Tarnished Gold that I picked up a few months ago. You can see my post of that here. That one had a faded gold color and barely cracked. O.P.I. has also released a gold shatter, which I'll probably get in the next couple of weeks. Hope you like this one as much as I do!

I've seen this image used layered before and I just LOVED how it looked. I can't remember where I saw it though so sorry I can't give credit to whoever it was =\ The one I saw had a hot pink base and then a black stamp layered over a white stamp. I kind of liked that one better, but I also wanted to use different colors to not be completely mindless so here's mine! I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Snappy Sorbet for a base. I bought this polish as a stamping polish, but wanted to give it a try on its own. I used Konad M82 in Konad White first and then M82 in Konad Red. I love the layered stamp look, but I think the color combo was just a bit too subtle for me.

Vintage Water Marble

I didn't really know what to call this post, but the colors remind me of the 70's! I actually did this water marbling the other day just to practice so I only did it on one hand. Wasn't very crazy about my color choice, but I didn't want to use too many colors because last time I did that it looked super psychedelic and I hated it lol. I started off with a white base and then marbled using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow, Sun Kissed, and Green With Envy. I LOVE these polishes to marble with because their formula is so watery and the polish drips very easily. I got mine at Target for like $2.04/each. My middle finger looks all messed up because I started to make my bullseye and realized I forgot to tape my finger, so I grabbed my lip balm and put it around my nail instead of tape (I heard some people use it instead of tape). I think I must have marbled on top of a glob of lip balm because when I put my topcoat part of my marble came right off =[ I will be sticking to tape from now on!

I have for you all today a post of my first 'real' holo. I posted a Color Club holo before, but it kinda sucked. This is my first super awesome linear holo. It's one of the discontinued polishes from O.P.I.'s Designer Series and it's called Signature. I've been seeing so many holo posts lately that I kind of went nuts last week and bought a couple O.P.I. DS holos, a CG OMG, 5 Nfu-Oh's, Nfu-Oh Aqua Base, and 2 grams of Spectraflair pigment. Haha yea, obviously I have no self control and yes I spent a lot. Anyways, I wore this ALONE for a FULL WEEK. How crazy is that?! I took a shit ton of pics and narrowed it down as much as I could. Click to enlarge on these. They look so much better when they're their full size. Enjoy =]

Hey everyone. I have a short post for you all today. I swatched some of the CG Metro Collection last week before work so I had to do something on my nails before I left of course. I don't know why, but for some reason I hate to wear bare nail polish. I feel like my nails are naked even though they're far from it. The only time I will do it is if I unexpectedly leave the house or if the base is GORGEOUS (like what I'm wearing right now. Skyscraper. Silver and blue glitter in a medium blue jelly base. 3 coats with topcoat. Love this one.

Concrete Catwalk. Creme. 2 coats. Dark grey/blue. This color is pretty much dark grey, but it does have a blue tint to it. The photo makes it look bluer than it is in person. For someone who doesn't like dark colors much, I actually really like this one.

Midtown Magic. Burgundy with gold shimmer. 2 coats. So this base really is burgundy, but for some reason when worn, it totally looks brown. The gold glitter looks beautiful in this one. I liked this one a whole lot more than I thought I would.

Overall, I LOVE this collection. I've said it so many times in my previous posts that I don't like dark colors, but this fall collection has really broadened my horizons and made me fall in love with some dark colors. Formula was like a dream. Most only took 2 coats, except for the 2 glitters. They all had a quick drying time. My favorites: CG In the City and Skyscraper. My least favorites: Street Chic and Brownstone. Still love the rest =]

This may just be my favorite mani of mine that I've ever done. My husband said it's his fave so far. This doesn't usually happen to me, I was inspired by something that I saw. I got some workout shorts from Sports Authority this week and they had really cool prints on them. Anyways, I just copied them and voila! I used 8 Color Club Poptastic colors including: Age of Aquarius, Pucci-licious, Poptastic, Wham! Pow!, Almost Famous, Twiggie, Edie, and Chelsea Girl. For the snakeskin design I used BM 224 in Konad Black. I just wore these to work tonight and I got soooo many compliments. Hope you like!

O.P.I. Bling Dynasty and BM 221

I did this mani about 3 weeks ago. I was just too busy to post it before I left to my trip. I really like the design, it looks tribal to me. I didn't think it would cover my full nail so I decided to stamp it diagonally across my nails. For a base I used O.P.I. Bling Dynasty from the Hong Kong Collection. I love this color. It applied soo nicely and dried quickly. I only used 2 coats. There's a lot of fine glitter in this polish so it's really pretty and sparkly and super easy to remove. I used BM 221 in Konad black.

Aloooooha! I have missed all my lovely followers and I'm excited to start blogging again. In case anyone missed it, I got married on July 14th in Hawaii and had a lovely honeymoon there. My husband and I actually got back home last week, but we spent another week just enjoying time off from work. I'll post a few pics, but our professional photos will be done in about 2 weeks so I'll share more with you all at that time.

I decided to do my own nails for the wedding. I bought a few pink nail polishes and took forever picking which one to use, but I'm happy with my selection. For my base color I used O.P.I. Strawberry Margarita. It's a bright, medium shade of pink. It's a creme and I believe I used 3 coats here. I used BM 220 in Konad White. I added silver glitter to the center of all the flowers. Sorry for the blurry photos. We were on the 29th floor of our hotel and I was trying to take these pics ASAP and go back inside. It was actually terrifying for me just standing on our balcony because it was so high up lol. I would've taken more pics, but I was so busy that I didn't find the time.

China Glaze Recycle and BM 208

So this is my first time trying a scheduled post. I decided to schedule this for my wedding day (today) so I can say hi to all my lovely followers =] Hope it works! Here's Auntie Jen's mani I did at the 'nail party' I went to about a week and a half ago. She used China Glaze Recycle and I stamped using BM 208 in Konad White. I actually love how there's a couple inverted images on the new BM plates because it makes it super easy to do an accent nail. Hope everyone liked the guest nails througout the week! Now I'm going to disappear on my honeymoon for a bit I'll miss everyone =]

Here's Merinna's mani I also did last week. It came out nicely, but it wasn't our initial idea. She wanted me to use the feather stamp, but for some reason it wasn't picking up correctly, and she wanted me to stamp in red, but even my Konad red didn't show up much over the grey. Anyways, this was the closest image to the feathers. Merinna used China Glaze Recycle as a base. I stamped using BM 210 and Konad Yellow.

She used China Glaze Classic Camel as a base. I stamped using BM 219 in Konad black. This is actually a tip design, but it doesn't have to be used as one. I got this idea from this video by soguesswhat11. I wanted to add some gold glitter along the lines, but I didn't bring most of my nail stuff to my friend's house so I wasn't able to. Oh well, still cute!

WOW. This is the longest I've gone so far without doing an actual nail post. My wedding is exactly a week away! I've either been to tired or too busy to post. I actually have stuff to post, just haven't made the time to actually do it. I went to my friend's house last week and did stamping manicures for her and some of her family. It was my first time doing something like that, but it was really fun and I can't wait to do it again. I'll be posting the guest nails throughout the week. First up, Angeline's mani. She used O.P.I. Planks A Lot as a base. I stamped using Konad M65 in China Glaze Emotion. Emotion is another one from the Romantique collection and just like the rest of the collection, it stamps great.

China Glaze White Out & BM 205

Hey everyone. Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been really busy planning stuff for my wedding (and working out, phew!). It's only 2 weeks away! I've no idea what I'll do for posts while I'm gone. How do guest posts work? I've never done that before, but I've seen other bloggers do it. Any volunteers while I'm gone? Anyways, I'm really happy how this mani turned out. I've seen this method done before where multiple colors are applied on a stamp to get a cool effect, but I've always been too scared that the colors would all run together, but they didn't. YAY! For this mani I used 2 coats of China Glaze White Out as a base. I used BM 205 to stamp and I used 4 Konad stamping polishes: Sky Pearl, Red, Yellow, and Princess Apple Green. By no means is the stamping perfect on this one, but it's really not that noticeable unless you look really close.

O.P.I. Ogre the Top Blue & BM 224

This is such a perfect mani for spring/summer! I used O.P.I. Ogre the Top Blue as my base. I used 2 coats in the first photo, but didn't realize it wasn't completely opaque until I took pics, so after that I added another coat. It's really a beautiful blue. I love all of the colors from the Shrek Collection, but I only own this one =[ I stamped using BM 224 with Konad White and then added some gold glitter in the middle of all the flowers.

Okay Rebecca, out of all your manis that I love and want to re-create (all of them =P), this one has just been staring at me and I had to do it! Haha you can check out the tutorial for this design by Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails. First color: China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, second color: Color Club Koo-Koo CaChoo, third color: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power. I used Konad M57 in Konad Black. For some reason, the orange in the photos doesn't show up that much, but in person it totally shows.

I'm sure you can tell, I've had a casualty this week and decided to chop all my nails ='[ Oh well, I should get used to short nails because when I start a nursing program in September, I will have to cut them even shorter than this.

Simple Freehand Nail Art

Wow I really suck at making creative names for my posts. Sorry! Anyways, as I was saying yesterday, I wanted to do some abstract nail art for my wedding shower, I didn't like how the first mani came out, so this is my second one. I think it suited the occasion much better than my previous post and I'm glad I didn't settle :) I LOVE how this came out. I think this can definitely be a "go-to" design for me if I want to do nails for a special occasion. I got some inspiration from Dollface22772's tutorial on YouTube. It helped me a lot because I almost never do freehand nail art. For the base I used China Glaze Heli-Yum. I love this color!

Bright Freehand Nail Art

My wedding shower was a few days ago on Saturday, and I wanted to do some abstract nail art, but this was a total fail for me. I kept this on for maybe an hour and took it off. I did something after this and it looks way better, I'll post the pretty one tomorrow haha. For the base I used one coat of China Glaze White out and then two coats of China Glaze White Cap. Then for the brightly colored lines I used Color Club Warhol, Koo-Koo CaChoo, Mrs. Robinson, and Feelin' Groovy. I used a short nail art brush here because I thought it would give me more control (I couldn't be more wrong lol), but after I took this off I used a longer nail art brush and it worked WAY better to create the curved lines. Again, the pretty post will come tomorrow ;]

O.P.I. Suzi Loves Cowboys & BM 214

Can you believe it, this is my one and only brown nail polish! I just got it last week in my haul and really wanted to try it. I like it a lot! This is 3 coats of O.P.I. Suzi Loves Cowboys from their Texas Collection. It looks like I melted down a chocolate bar and painted my nails with it, yum! I wanted to use a bright color to stamp on this one and I had the perfect idea-- a Pocahontas/Native American inspried theme. I stamped using BM 214 in Konad Sky Pearl. Then I added dots using China Glaze Happy Go Lucky and China Glaze Hey Sailor. The stamping isn't done as well as my other manis, but it's a little harder with less intricate designs. I kept scraping more polish off than I wanted to. I still totally love the way this looks though!

Orly Charged Up & BM 207

This is my first monochrome mani! I've been meaning to do one, but I'm always second guessing myself because I think the stamp might not show up. Anyways, I read China Glaze's Romantique polishes work really well to stamp so I bought 6 of them. I used Orly Charged Up as a base color. I stamped using BM 207 in China Glaze Harmony. The purple base color photographs a little different than it looks in person, but I really like how this one turned out and yes, the Romantique polishes are awesome to stamp with!

Color Club Feelin' Groovy & BM 209

I got this neon green Color Club from their Poptastic collection. I'd have to say, this is such a beautiful collection with tons of bright colors perfect for summer. I might just get the rest of the entire collection. I'm always hesitant with neons because they usually tend to dry matte and chip very quickly. So far I've used 2 of these neons and they have a great formula that dries shiny. Here I used 3 coats of Feelin' Groovy. I stamped with BM 209 in Konad White and then in Konad Sky Pearl to get a layered effect and make the blue show up a little more. Sorry if the photos look a bit washed out.

Color Club Worth the Risque

Picked this one up in my haul earlier this week. I really wanted some holo polishes for my collection because I don't have any linear holos and I'm so jealous of looking at pictures of everyone elses haha. I got 3 from color club: Worth the Risque (this one), Wild at Heart, and Fashion Addict. This one had kind of a thick formula so it wasn't the easiest to apply, but it was still totally manageable though. I used 4 coats here to get an even application, but 3 would've been fine. It's not very holo, but I don't care because it's my first linear holo and some holo is better than none =]

O.P.I. Spark de Triomphe & O.P.I. White Shatter

I'm so glad I bought another set from O.P.I's Serena Williams Glam Slam Collection. Not much to say about this one, except that I LOVE it! Spark de Triomphe has a clear base with 2 different sizes of silver and gold glitter. I believe I used 3 coats here. Then of course, I used white shatter on top. I would have to say that out of the 3 brands of crackle/shatter polishes I've tried (Sally Hansen, China Glaze, O.P.I.) that the O.P.I. shatters have the best formula and work well for me all the time! My pictures really don't do this one justice.

Monarch Butterfly Nails

I have been wanting to try doing a Monarch butterfly mani for weeks now, and I finally got the courage to do it lol. I thought it would be difficult, but it was actually not bad. Maybe it's because I got actual nail art brushes last week that made it pretty easy. I followed this tutorial from Cutepolish on YouTube. She has really great video tutorials if you're looking for some creative ideas! For the base color, I used China Glaze in Papaya Punch, which is my favorite orange right now! The black I used was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Black Out. For the white dots I used Wet n Wild French White Creme. It didn't come out perfectly, but it came out way better than I expected it to. I'll admit, I only did this on my left hand so I'm not that awesome. How many of you nail bloggers out there do one hand manis? Haha just wondering.

O.P.I. My Private Jet Swatch

First off, I just want to apologize for my absence these past few days. I had an eye infection last week that led to these massive headaches. I ended up getting a CT scan, which came back negative (phew!) and I was prescribed vicodin. The medication has been kicking my butt, but helping, and I'm glad to be back!

Now onto nail polish! I picked this one up last week from my haul at US Nails Supply and I'm so happy that I did. It's a charcoal that has a chocolate tint to it at certain angles and it's packed with holo glitter! I can say for the first time, I couldn't stop staring at my nails. This is kinda pic heavy, but it was hard to photograph. All photos can be enlarged.

Multicolored Leopard Print Nails

I've seen nails done like this before and always wanted to try it out, so I finally did! First I used Wet n Wild French Creme for the base color. Then I used Konad M57 for the leopard print in Konad black. Lastly, I used a small dotting tool to add the colors. (Red: China Glaze Hey Sailor, Orange: ChG Papaya Punch, Yellow: ChG Happy Go Lucky, Green: ChG Four Leaf Clover, Blue: ChG Flyin' High, Purple: L.A. Girl Disco Brites Hustle). I used Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat over it, like I do over everything, but it kinda smeared this one a bit. It's usually really visible when using Konad black over white especially. I kinda wish I used hot pink instead of red and lime green instead of green. Also, this is random, but all my customers at work this weekend thought they were just stickers. It was kind of flattering and annoying at the same time. Anyone else feel the same way/have any thoughts on that? Haha.

Last, but not least from the Cosmix FX collection is Lunar Eclipse. I kept saying this with each polish, but this one was really the hardest to photograph lol. I think it's because this is a blue and purple duochrome and blue and purple are really hard to capture on camera. Purple usually ends up looking blue which is really frustrating. The base of this color is such a vibrant, rich blue that I would totally wear it just like that. To make it even better, there is a ton of purple glitter, giving it a cool duochrome effect. Like I said, it was hard to capture, but I hope you can tell. I used 3 coats, no topcoat.
