Pure Ice--Pool Party & Catwalk Crackle

Happy Friday! As of today I'm officially on my summer vacation! I have so many nail ideas I can't wait to get started, but first I want to get some stuff out of the vault that I never got around to. Today I have Pure Ice Pool Party and Pure Ice Catwalk (crackle). I was pretty surprised at how well the yellow crackle worked--one because I've never seen it before, and two because I thought it would be pretty sheer over blue, but it turned out nicely! These can be purchased from Bari Cosmetics.

Two coats of Pool Party, no topcoat.

Pool Party with Catwalk.

OPI A Roll In the Hague & Gold Holo Hex Glitter

Hi loves! Good news--my last day of class is on Thursday so I will be posting a lot more often. I have so many ideas and I'm also going to tackle the 31 day nail challenge so keep an eye out for that! Today I have something simple I did when I was short on time. This is a great option for someone who wants to do some quick nail art. I used OPI A Roll in the Hague and added some gold holo hex glitter. Very simple, but it looks really classy. On a side note, I figured out how to rotate my watermark so I might start using a new "hand pose" plus I feel weird watermarking twice. Any thoughts?

Here's a "new pose" for me. How'd I do? Lol

Tattoo Inspired Nail Art

Happy Friday! Today I have a cute mani to show you that is inspired by one of my favorite bloggers. You can check out Rebecca's mani here! I was going for a tattooed look and I think I nailed it! I used O.P.I. Samoan Sand as a base. To stamp I used Konad plates M13, M53, M47, Q1, & M3 in Konad Red, Yellow, Sky Pearl, & Black. My original idea to fill in the blue outline with blue polish and stamp the outline again in black didn't work because I had too much difficulty lining it up again with the image, but I'm still happy with how this turned out!

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Swatches

Hi readers! Today I have some new polish duos from Pure Ice called Vinyl Remix. It puts an interesting twist on crackle polish! Each duo comes with a white 'Platinum Magic Base Coat' and a 'Vinyl Remix' crackle that not only crackles, but makes the white base change into a certain color. The four Vinyl Remix colors I received are Rave (orange), Emcee Me (yellow), Vintage Remix (purple), and DJ Spinner (green). Let's take a look at the magic.

First, start off with a the white Platinum Magic Base Coat.

Next, use the Vinyl Remix polishes and watch the white base change colors! You can see some squiggly designs on my middle finger because part of the whole idea is 'Art in Motion'

Here's another combination I tried using Rave and DJ Spinner. More squigglies!

These polishes were pretty fun to use. It's the first time I've ever watched nail polish change colors before my eyes so that was cool to see. There are really so many possibilities that can be created with different colors and patterns that make these polishes very versatile for different looks. The only thing that was a little annoying was that when I tried to create patterns with the Vinyl Remix polishes, it would get on the sides of my fingers and create extra clean up. Of course you don't have to create patterns, but I was trying the go with the 'Art in Motion' idea and try it out. This is a great alternative to painting your nails several different base colors before applying a crackle polish because the magic will do the work for you. It's fun, easy to use, and allows for creativity. These polishes will be available at Wal-Mart this month. You can see a video tutorial or other colors here on the Pure Ice website.
