31 Day Nail Challenge--Day 19: Galaxies

Happy Tuesday! Today's theme is galaxies and I was kind of dreading it because I wasn't sure how mine would turn out. I think they turned out pretty well for my first time. I used a bunch of stuff so I'm just going to list them: OPI Black Onyx, China Glaze Champagne Bubbles, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, China Glaze Riveting, OPI Dim Sum Plum, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Night Flight, China Glaze Man Hunt, Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Platinum Magic Base Coat, and China Glaze Fairy Dust. I also used some white acrylic paint. I finally got some acrylic paints yesterday, so I will start playing with them soon! Not sure how that will turn out, but hopefully I can do some new kinds of nail art with that. What do you ladies think, are these out of this world?

31 Day Nail Challenge--Day 18: Half Moons

Good morning beauties! Today's theme is half moons. I love the look, but I kind of suck at doing it. I've only done it 3 times including today, but each time I pull off the hole reinforcements I manage to screw something up. Oh well, I think if I practice more I'll get the hang of it. For this mani I used Pure Ice Platinum Magic Base Coat and China Glaze Man Hunt and added red holo hex glitter. I'm determined to get better at doing these!

Pure Ice--Bite Me & Show Stopper Crackle

Hi loves! Today I have another one from the vault. This is Pure Ice Bite me with Show Stopper Crackle on top. I love this gold! It was sheer on the first coat, but was good in two and it looks awesome. The crackle worked well and I had no problems with it. I'm pretty cracked out already and this is not an exception. I make exceptions when it's a new color that I haven't seen before, but this one isn't anything new and I wasn't amazed by it.

Two coats of Bite Me, no topcoat.

Pure Ice--Pool Party & Catwalk Crackle

Happy Friday! As of today I'm officially on my summer vacation! I have so many nail ideas I can't wait to get started, but first I want to get some stuff out of the vault that I never got around to. Today I have Pure Ice Pool Party and Pure Ice Catwalk (crackle). I was pretty surprised at how well the yellow crackle worked--one because I've never seen it before, and two because I thought it would be pretty sheer over blue, but it turned out nicely! These can be purchased from Bari Cosmetics.

Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Swatches

Hi readers! Today I have some new polish duos from Pure Ice called Vinyl Remix. It puts an interesting twist on crackle polish! Each duo comes with a white 'Platinum Magic Base Coat' and a 'Vinyl Remix' crackle that not only crackles, but makes the white base change into a certain color. The four Vinyl Remix colors I received are Rave (orange), Emcee Me (yellow), Vintage Remix (purple), and DJ Spinner (green). Let's take a look at the magic.

First, start off with a the white Platinum Magic Base Coat.

Next, use the Vinyl Remix polishes and watch the white base change colors! You can see some squiggly designs on my middle finger because part of the whole idea is 'Art in Motion'

Here's another combination I tried using Rave and DJ Spinner. More squigglies!

These polishes were pretty fun to use. It's the first time I've ever watched nail polish change colors before my eyes so that was cool to see. There are really so many possibilities that can be created with different colors and patterns that make these polishes very versatile for different looks. The only thing that was a little annoying was that when I tried to create patterns with the Vinyl Remix polishes, it would get on the sides of my fingers and create extra clean up. Of course you don't have to create patterns, but I was trying the go with the 'Art in Motion' idea and try it out. This is a great alternative to painting your nails several different base colors before applying a crackle polish because the magic will do the work for you. It's fun, easy to use, and allows for creativity. These polishes will be available at Wal-Mart this month. You can see a video tutorial or other colors here on the Pure Ice website.

Pure Ice Crackle & Ice Duo--Gold Glitter & Black Crackle

Today I have my very first nail polish that I received for review! I feel like a real blogger now! I got this duo and another duo that I'll post another day. It was the coolest thing ever! So anyways, Pure Ice released several "Crackle and Ice Duos" that are basically sets of polish and a crackle that goes with it. The base polish I have here is called 582CP (I wish it had an actual name) and it's a clear base with gold and copper glitter. I got good coverage with 3 coats, but personally I probably wouldn't wear it alone. I applied a topcoat over the glitter first and then added one thick coat of Strobe Light, the black crackle. You can purchase these polishes here at Bari Cosmetics.
